The cabin, located at Wildhorse Reservoir 60 miles north of Elko is ideally located for adventure no matter what time of the year.

It still may be August but Fall is not far away.  I've noticed the days getting a little shorter and the nights seem cooler.  What does this mean?  FALL!

Also, be thinking of your 2008-2009 ice fishing trip to Wildhorse Reservoir.  The perch are hot this summer and should be good next winter.

If you enjoy big game hunting, our cabin is located in the heart of Area 6 and only minutes from Area 7.  Elk, deer, and antelope are in abundance.  In fact, during the spring, summer, and fall months, antelope may be in the front yard!  Sagehen and chukar hunting is not far. 

Snowmobilers, once your sleds are unloaded, you never have to drive your truck again!  Access hundreds of square miles right from the front door. Be sure to bring plenty of extra fuel.  I've used 18 gallons in a full day of outstanding, exciting riding.  Your host, Gage Smith and the surrounding area was once featured in Snowest Magazine.  My Wildhorse Cabin is perfectly suited for you.

Fishermen, either ice or regular,  the view of Wildhorse Reservoir from my cabin is superb.  You need not go far for outstanding trout, perch and bass fishing.  During the warmer months, a short trip on your ATV can land you in some pretty exciting stream and small river fishing.  The Wildhorse Cabin is what you are looking for.

ATV riders; this is the place for you.  ATVing is my passion and the opportunities are endless for short trips to day long excursions.  A day trip to Jarbidge along with lunch at the famous Outdoor Inn in Jarbidge is a great experience. You may even write your name on the walls at the Oudoor Inn!  Come home to the Wildhorse Cabin for a relaxing evening and plan for tomorrow's adventure.  Like to take pictures?  The wildflower displays in the spring and early summer and next to none.  Fall colors are out of this world!

Need a getaway?  This is just the place for you.  Relax, stay up late and get up at the "crack of 10;00".   Have a relaxed brunch and take a little tour of the countryside in your vehicle.  Maybe sitting by the fire with a good book is what you are looking for.  Look out the window and watch it snow.  Can you smell the (fill in the blank) laced with garlic cooking in the oven?  Doesn't get much better than this.

Hey Elko Cowboy Poetry Gathering folks!  Yes, I'm 60 miles from Elko but the Wildhorse Cabin Rental is located in the heart of ranch country.  See the beautiful ranch once owned by Bing Crosby.  You could spend a day just driving around and looking at the historic ranches in the area.  State Route 225 is an all weather highway so the 60 miles slips by effortlessly.  Check out my place in regards to rates compared to the hotels/motels in town.  I think that you will find me to be very reasonable even with the cost of fuel factored in.
