How do you get to the cabins at Wildhorse Reservoir?
Before leaving Elko, be sure to do all of your shopping for your entire stay. Elko is the last stop before you get here and there are no services or stores at Wildhorse.
From Elko, travel north on State Route 225 (Mountain City Highway). Approximately 60 miles north of Elko you will see The Wildhorse Resort on your right. Turn LEFT on Gold Avenue. Gold Avenue is improved gravel and you will head toward the lake.
You will come to a point where Gold swings to the left and becomes Emerald Avenue. Proceed west on Emerald until you reach the Super Chicken Coop at 221 Emerald Avenue. If you are staying at The Tackle Box, then proceed about 100 yards farther down to 262 Emerald which will be on your left.
When you arrive, there will be instructions for you to call me at my house which is less than five minutes away. I will come down, and we will finish the business at hand, and you will be ready for your Nevada Blue Outdoor Adventure.
The Super Chicken Coop has a phone. The number is
The Tackle Box also has a phone. The number there is 775-758-5539.
I want to stress that you need to bring everything you will need with you. This includes fuel for your equipment and all of your food and beverages. Since the Wildhorse Resort is closed, there are NO commercial establishments up here.
